about

This Powerful Country song tells my story in part and shares a inspirational Gospel message that nearly every listener can relate to.

lyrics

I grew up in a small farm town
Working hard, and good clean fun.
I was raised to walk the line, but I went my own way.
Preachers told me to repent.
I guess I didn't get it yet.
I knew what I had to do, but I thought I knew better.

Reckless living, raising Cain
I was gonna die young.
But the Good Lord kept me here.
He should have said "I'm done"
The Preacher told me it's not too late.
Jesus paid the price.
It was finally time for me to step over the line...

It's a new life, want to change the world.
Never miss another hug, from my little girls.
Serve the Good Lord, with all my heart.
Gonna love my wife as he does, I will do my part.
I remember when the Preacher said Repent.
I think I finally understand... What The Preacher Meant.

Years of parties and drunken faces.
Disappeared without any traces.
I looked in the mirror one day, I was half past 30.
I took off to recall my life.
Would Mama be proud, or would she cry?
All I had to show, was broken pieces...
... Then one day... I met Jesus...

It's a new life, want to change the world.
Never miss another hug, from my little girls.
Serve the Good Lord, with all my heart.
Gonna love my wife as he does, I will do my part.
I remember when the Preacher said Repent.
I think I finally understand... What The Preacher Meant.

Then the Preacher told me Jesus died.
So I could have a clean slate.
Then I prayed to God, I'd change my ways.
If it wasn't too late.....

It's a new life, want to change the world.
Never miss another hug, from my little girls.
Serve the Good Lord, with all my heart.
Gonna love my wife as he does, I will do my part.
I remember when the Preacher said Repent.
I think I finally understand... What He Meant.....

Forty-something, I'm a little past younger.
Thought for sure by now, I'd be 6 feet under.
But Jesus bought my life.
I want to live for Him forever...

about

Lorne Brinkman Lake City, Minnesota

Like many others, my younger self wanted to move far away and make it big. But after experiencing real life, its funny how you appreciate your roots when you get older. I ended up moving back to that small town in Lake City, MN where I grew up. I guess I always had a Country heart. As a Christian Country Singer. I believe that Country Music should be about the important things in life. ... more
